IEM Annual Conference and Retreat

This year's Institute for Engineering in Medicine (IEM) Conference and Retreat will take place on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the McNamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities Campus. The event opened with plenary keynote talks by nationally recognized leaders in academia and government, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, breakout sessions were taking place for IEM faculty members (or other interested parties including industrial colleagues) to discuss research collaborations opportunities relating to Cardiovascular Engineering, Neuroengineering, Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering, Medical and Biological Imaging, and Medical Devices. From mid-afternoon, there was a poster/networking session highlighting research of IEM faculty members and their groups included in the program. The retreat and conference shall offer rich opportunities to develop collaborations, and also learn more about how to responsively apply for IEM seed grants.

5th Annual Minnesota Neuromodulation Symposium (MNS17)

April 13-14, 2017

The Institute for Engineering in Medicine is pleased to organize the 5th Annual Minnesota Neuromodulation Symposium, to be held right after the Design of Medical Devices conference April 13-14, 2017 on campus of the University of Minnesota. During this event, distinguished scientists and thought leaders in neuromodulation will be invited to deliver plenary talks. Additionally, a poster session will be organized for faculty and students to showcase their work. Selected posters will be invited to give 5-minute Highlight Talk on the morning of April 15th immediately proceeding the session.

Design of Medical Devices Conference

The University of Minnesota Medical Devices Center (part of the Institute for Engineering in Medicine), the College of Science and Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering presents the 16th Annual Design of Medical Devices Conference. The world's largest medical device conference will be held at The Commons Hotel, located at 615 Washington Ave. SE, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55414, adjacent to the University of Minnesota campus. The DMD conference is to provide a national forum to bring together world-class medical device designers, researchers, manufacturers, and the public sector to share perspectives and innovations in medical device design, showcase the University of Minnesota as a leader in the medical device community, and raise funds from corporate sponsorships to support medical device education at the University of Minnesota.
